WordPress + Elementor
CMS and visual layout for pages, landings and content editable by the team.
Development and maintenance of a WordPress platform with custom plugins, volunteering management, online donations, chatbot and Google Sheets integration.
Soñar Despierto is a foundation that needed a strong digital presence and, at the same time, operational tools built into its website. Digitup developed and maintains its WordPress platform, using Elementor for pages, landings and editorial content, and extending the CMS with custom plugins connected to real internal processes.
The project goes beyond a standard corporate site. The platform manages volunteering opportunities, accepts online donations via Stripe, includes a chatbot for support and enquiries, and connects bidirectionally with Google Sheets so the internal team works with up-to-date data without duplicating tasks. The result is a WordPress site the team can edit independently while it also serves as an operational base for the foundation.
Foundations and third-sector organisations often need two things at once: a website that is easy to manage for communication, campaigns and content, and specific features that generic plugins do not handle well — volunteering sign-ups, donation flows, spreadsheet sync or internal automations.
Soñar Despierto ran processes that relied on external tools and repetitive manual work. The team needed to centralise part of that operation on the website, keep editorial control without depending on development for every content change, and connect the platform to Google Sheets, where they already managed part of their information. The solution had to be stable, maintainable and understandable for non-technical profiles.
The main challenge was combining WordPress editorial flexibility with custom business logic. Market plugins covered individual pieces — forms, basic donations, generic chatbots — but did not fit the foundation's workflows or the integration they needed with spreadsheets and internal processes.
We had to solve volunteering management from the website, a reliable donation system connected to Stripe, a chatbot integrated into the site, read/write access to Google Sheets from WordPress, and automations that reduced manual work for the team. All of this without sacrificing the editing ease Elementor provides for public content or compromising payment and personal data security.
Digitup designed a modular WordPress platform: Elementor for the visible and content layer, and custom plugins in PHP and JavaScript for specific functionality. Each plugin solves a concrete block — volunteering, donations, chatbot, Sheets integration — but shares the same technical base and maintenance criteria.
Google Sheets integration allows reading and writing data from WordPress, so forms, sign-ups and internal records appear in the spreadsheets the team already uses. Donations go through Stripe with a flow tailored to the foundation. The chatbot answers frequent questions and guides visitors without replacing human contact when needed. Digitup also maintains the platform, evolves plugins and ensures WordPress, Elementor and integrations stay operational over time.

Read and write data between WordPress and spreadsheets via API.
Flows connecting forms, records and sheets to reduce manual tasks.
The chatbot is the main AI touchpoint in this project. It is not a generic widget disconnected from the site, but a plugin integrated into WordPress that answers common questions, guides users on volunteering and donations, and reduces repetitive enquiries for the team.
The assistant is configured with the foundation's context and lives alongside the rest of the platform: consistent branding, access from any page, and the ability to evolve responses and flows without rebuilding the website. It is a practical conversational layer designed to complement existing editorial content and forms.
The base is WordPress with Elementor for presentation and visual editing. Custom plugins are built in PHP following WordPress conventions — hooks, custom post types, REST endpoints where needed — and JavaScript for front-end and admin interactions.
Stripe handles donation payments with a flow adapted to the foundation. The Google Sheets API syncs data both ways: sending records from forms and sign-ups, and reading information the team maintains in spreadsheets. The chatbot integrates as a native WordPress plugin, not as an isolated external iframe.
WordPress development, custom plugins, integrations, chatbot and ongoing maintenance.
Setup, structure and technical CMS base with Elementor for content.
Specific modules for volunteering, donations and automation.
Secure online donation flow tailored to the foundation's needs.
Bidirectional connection with spreadsheets for the team's operational data.
Conversational assistant integrated into the website for enquiries and guidance.
Continuous evolution, fixes and support for the platform and its integrations.
The project turned a corporate website into a platform that is more useful for the internal team. Volunteering, donations, forms and data connected to Google Sheets live in one environment the team can edit with Elementor without touching code.
Impact is measured in daily operation: fewer manual tasks copying data between systems, donations managed from the website itself, centralised volunteering sign-ups, and a chatbot that handles repetitive enquiries. Soñar Despierto now has a WordPress site that communicates and works for the organisation — not only for external visitors.
We can help you design custom plugins, integrate Stripe, Google Sheets, chatbots and automations into your WordPress without giving up easy content editing.
